Disposal and Environment

The environment is very important to us: Here you can find information about it:

Battery Law

Many devices come with batteries or accumulators that are necessary for their operation. In connection with the sale of these batteries or accumulators, we as distributors are obliged under the Battery Law (BattG) to inform our customers of the following: Used batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. Consumers are legally required to take batteries to an appropriate collection point. You can return your used batteries free of charge here: ROCKnSHOP GmbH, Merkurring 33-35, 22143 Hamburg. Used batteries contain valuable raw materials that can be recycled.

Batteries and accumulators are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin.

The dustbin means: Batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of with household waste.

The symbols under the dustbins stand for:

  • Pb for lead
  • Cd for cadmium
  • Hg for mercury

These chemical symbols indicate that a certain limit of the specified chemical substances in this battery type is exceeded:

  • Hg: More than 0.0005 percent by weight of mercury
  • Cd: More than 0.002 percent by weight of cadmium
  • Pb: More than 0.004 percent by weight of lead
You will also find these instructions again in the accompanying documents of the goods shipment or in the manufacturer’s operating manual.

Our supplier has fulfilled its reporting obligation to the Federal Environment Agency.

Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)

The ROCKnSHOP product range also includes electrical devices (e.g., toasters) that are subject to the ElektroG. The symbol for the separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment is a crossed-out wheeled waste bin. Disposal of these electrical devices in household waste is prohibited under the ElektroG (Act on the Sale, Return, and Environmentally Friendly Disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment). Consumers can return their old electrical devices to a municipal collection point free of charge.

Further information on the Battery Law can be found in the consumer section of the Stiftung Gemeinsames Rücknahmesystem Batterien (GRS) at [www.grs-batterien.de]. Information about the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act can be found on the website of the Federal Ministry for the Environment under the Waste section: [www.bmu.de]
