1985 the „Rock am Ring“ festival has been founded as an unique event. Having great artists like U2, Chris de Burgh and Westernhagen the festival has been a great success. Round about 75.000 people came to view the spectacle and cared for the festival to carry on. That’s why the festival takes place every year at “Nürburgring”.
There has been a big break-in in history as only 30.000 fans came to visit the festival in 1988. As a result the festival didn’t take place for two years and came back with a new concept in 1991. Part of the concept was to present newcomer to the visitors and at that time unknown artists like INXS and Alanis Morissette became famous through “Rock am Ring”.
Today “Rock am Ring” is the biggest rock festival in Germany. The best rock artists are performing every year and making a great show for all fans to let the festival be an unforgettable event.
In 2010 the festival celebrated its 25th birthday and got a fantastic line-up going with bands like KISS, Rage against the machine, muse and Rammstein. Over the years a huge rage of festival merchandise has been build up with individual men-shirts and girly-shirts as well as cool specials.
